Current Committee
Every hall has a committee. These are students that volunteer their time to make hall life as amazing as possible. Each member has a specific task and areas to help engage holt students in, such as; Media, Sports, Action, Rag, everything Social, Stash, and Welfare. Together they create some of the biggest events you'll do during the year! This includes a summer and winter ball, our very own Holt Day festival and all of freshers fortnight and refreshers after your January exams!

Hey hey guys I’m Ellie and I’m from south London! I’m one half of your female sports sec for the holt! My job is to organise the girls sports teams for the leagues and ODEs and get you all as involved as possible in hall sports, from netball and football to sports you’ve probably never played, like ultimate frisbee and wheelchair basketball. University is so much fun when you get involved, and the best way to do this is to play in IMS leagues for the Holt!

Action is all about volunteering in various kinds of lovely events which normally happens on Wednesday. They can be either helping inside the uni or contributing in the local community represented our own hall. If you would like to do some voluntary work, come to Action, I am sure you will have fun with different projects as well as enjoying the pride of helping others at the same time.
Hey there! I’m Puv from South Wales and I’ll be one of your two Action Reps for the year 😁. My job is to organise volunteering projects for Holters, otherwise known as ACTION projects! Throughout the year we’ll have everything from Dog Walking 🐶 to helping at the local Alpaca Farm 🦙 and even giving the elderly a hand 👵. Action projects are a fun way to spend time with friends whilst helping other people so be sure to get stuck in 🤗 💜💜

Hi everyone! I'm Samy from Peru! I've travelled over 10,000 kms to be here and study sport management. Sport is my passion so it's very fitting I'm one of your sport secs! Our aim as sport secs is to engage as many people as possible in doing sports and IMS is the main way we do this. Loughborough's Finest - 2017/18
This committee was elected via Holt resident votes in November 2016 and February 2017. As the third committee of the Holt, they ran a brilliant freshers fortnight filled with glitter, paint and lots of punch! They also guided to the Holt to its highest position in the sing-off, as well as winning "Highly Commended" for Freshers Committee at the Hall Committee Awards 2018!

My role also involves me making sure that you have the best time of your life here at the Holt! My name is Sophie I am your social sec for the next year, my job is to get you out and socialising as much as possible by organising amazing, interesting and fun events (both with and without alcohol). The people you meet here at the Holt will be your new family and it’s my job to get you to meet them all and provide the best all rounded year possible! I want you all to make the most of our amazing Hall and the atmosphere that surrounds it ❤ xx
As your social sec I am very excited to get to know you all throughout your stay here and make sure you have an absolutely fantastic time . There is such a diverse number of ways to get involved, that isn’t just sport, and its part of my role to help you guys make the most of each opportunity. We run many different types of social events across the year where you get to meet new people, build strong friendships, as well as make truly unforgettable memories along the way.
I had the best time playing IMS during my first year, so I'm so excited to get all of you involved in it to! It's the best way to get away from your work for a bit and have fun! There's so many different sports to take part in from netball to wheelchair basketball, so there's something for everyone to enjoy! Hopefully we can do even better than last year and the Holt can win some events!
Having a passion for sports and having the opportunity to be a sport sec, means enjoying the fun of many different IMS games! My position means encouraging others to participate in different events, especially one day event such as dodge ball which is great fun! Also being Sport Sec allows you to meet some great people and having a fab time!
Sports sec constitutes involving as many people as possible in as many different sports as possible, whether they're experienced or new to the sport. Whilst still ensuring strong sides are being fielded, in order to keep the Holt ascending the rankings. I'd like to change the attitude of the Holt- from being weaker at sport just because we're smaller than others- to being able to compete with the larger halls, particularly in one day events.
As the Holts sports Sec I will be organising the sports side of the Holt. This will be through IMS in which all the halls compete against competitively but also having fun. IMS team socials will also take place during the year!
Hey Holters! I am your Holt Action Rep! Holt Action is all about volunteering and going on various projects such as Dog walking, running Kids Olympics or even helping at the Pony and Alpaca farms- there is always plenty to do! My job is to recruit volunteers and run the projects ensuring you all have a great time, volunteering looks great on your CV and is a great way to meet other Holters especially in your first few weeks! Can't wait to Sesh with you all, Holt action love x x x
As Action Rep, I am responsible for bringing groups from the Holt to projects in the local community. It's a fantastic chance to get involved, and use your time for a very valuable cause! The projects range from helping out in a local food kitchen and volunteering at the IT clinics for the elderly to dog walking and helping out at the stables.
Being part of RAG is an amazing experience. Loughborough RAG provides a variety of different challenges both inside the university and across the world- raising money for numerous causes whilst giving back to the community. I've met so many new people and I'm so excited to meet all of the holt freshers and get everyone involved in RAG so we can raise our hall total to the highest it can be! The holt is such a good place to be and I can't wait for next year :)
RAG is the fundraising section of committee where I will aim to get as many of you involved in the most fun and rewarding projects, all in the name of charity. Events vary from colour runs across campus to sky dives so there is something for everyone. As a media and Stash Rep I work to promote The Holt and the experience of living here. The position allows me to be creative through the making of posters, logo redesigns, gifs, videos, Snapchat filters, photography, fresher top designs, Holt merchandise and so much more.

This committee was set up in early 2016 to maintain the Holt's newly recognised status as an official Hall of Residence. They organised and ran freshers fortnight 2016, and were replaced by Holt students through votes in November 2016 and February 2017 Hustings.

Hello Holters, my names Desai although most people call me "D". As Hall Chair of the Holt I oversee all of the halls events and the other memebers in the committee. My aim is to ensure you have the absolute best freshers experience possible, and to be honest, I'm sure you will!
I want to achieve and withhold a Holt community spirit where everyone gets involved and feels truly at home. I want to get a buzz about the Holt around campus and let others know that we are a hall to be reckoned with. Also, I shall support my fellow committee members, helping in any way to support and organise their goals, while encouraging a stronger relationship between Holters and their committee. Interesting fact: I've sky dived from 13,000ft!
Hello my name is Sophia and I'm treasurer of the holt. I'm responsible for collecting hall subscriptions and I am also in charge of all the halls finances. Hall subs go towards running events, like all of freshers, punch parties and socials! As well as maintaining the hall with sporting equipment, common room facilities and so much more ! As social sec, I aim to make my fellow students of The Holt enjoy their social life and make the most of their time here. This will be done by me involving everyone in all socials and events, and making sure they have the best time making new friends and making the best memories.

I'm here to make sure you guys have the most interesting all rounded year organising social events for our glorious hall. First year's all about getting involved and making the most of every opportunity and the family feel surrounding the Holt hall will provide the platform for you! Remember guys freshers isn't just a week it should last the year ... lets go !!!
I can't wait to get involved with all the sport in The Holt! So far The Holt have done exceptionally well in IMS and I want to make sure that continues and that everyone around campus knows that The Holt are a hall who can challenge all the other halls in the sporting events throughout the coming year! I also want to try and get as many people involved and active in the IMS programme and make sure that everyone enjoys participating in all the sport that is on offer!
I can't wait to get you all involved in IMS for The Holt! Naturally as a competitive person I would love for us to do even better than we did last year, getting some quality results! Playing IMS sport is a great way to chill out from your studies so try to have a go at everything we have to offer, also being a great opportunity to make new friends easily!
With sport being very competitive, but enjoyable at the same time, i'd like to introduce inter-block games such as dodgeball, 3v3 basketball, 5 a side football etc. In addition, i'd like to try to broaden the IMS sports available to include dodgeball and touch American football. On a personal level, i'd like to meet new people, challenge myself to be more organised and responsible and just to have fun playing sport!
IMS is a great way of getting involved with the hall and meeting new people. There is something for everyone from those who want to just want to have fun to the more competitive sportsmen meaning that you don't have to be amazing at every sport to give it a try! I can't wait for the new freshers to get involved in all the Holt teams so we can do even better than last year!

Hello Holters, I cannot wait to meet you all in Freshers and get you all involved in Action; the volunteering section of the union. Action projects are the perfect way to make new friends and have a relaxing break from lectures and partying, whilst also giving back to the local community. From personal experience I have loved being a part of this wonderful section, it has given me something to work towards in my first year and weekend projects are a really good hangover cure!

I play Lacrosse for the Uni, so if you want to play at a high level for the Uni in any sport I'm your go to man for info & support. Hey guys! I'm Mercy, your FREEC & AAIR rep and I guess that sounds pretty odd...
