For the Holtimate fresher experience, the holt is the only place to be:

The Holt is the most fun, most attractive and most unique accommodation Loughborough has to offer, Located just off campus (being no more than 5 minutes onto campus, 10 Minutes to James France and possibly one of the best features of living at the holt, a mere 30-second walk to the great Toby Carvery). Our five main accommodation blocks surround the Old Holt building, which contains our common room, our reception, and our cleaning facilities; this building is a beautiful Victorian listed mansion to which the accommodation blocks were added.
The Holt blocks are divided into flats, each having a fully kitted out kitchen and living area, containing a sofa, breakfast bar area and adequate storage facilities, All bedrooms are furnished with a 4ft double bed and an en-suite. Making student life as comfortable as ever.

I would like to offer you a very warm welcome to Loughborough University and to The Holt – a beautiful, inclusive, spirited hall of residence where you really will meet friends for life, start new adventures and have fun along the way!

Our Hall is my home and is also home to the sub wardens and it will further be ‘home’ to 261 students. I do hope you settle in and enjoy living in The Holt. I want you to be proud of our Hall and I encourage you to support your committee in their efforts to secure Awards for the Hall. The Committee will ask you to support several projects (volunteering, fundraising, sport, and environmental) and I encourage you to get involved.
If you experience any difficulties or feel something is not quite right, please contact either me or one of the sub wardens for an informal and confidential chat. We can arrange access to several university support services including careers, counseling, mental health support, welfare, and finance.

The Holt was my first choice for accommodation and I have not regretted it once. The Holt has been the kindest and most sincere environment I could have ever asked for during my first year, It has allowed me to make lifelong friends who I will always cherish. This is typical of the Holt purely and simply because of the one thing people see as a negative, its size, the simple fact it is a small hall means you will always have someone to bond with, regardless if you are from around the corner or the furthest reaches of the world, the Holt is always going to be a home away from home for me, and I can attest it can be a home away from home for you x
